Who we are

Adelstow Advisory (“we”, “us”) is a UK-based advisory practice led by Sally Dewar. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can reach us at sally@adelstowadvisory.com.

What we collect

• Enquiry details — the name, email address, organisation, role, area of interest and message you submit through our contact form, or send us by email.
• Engagement records — correspondence and documentation created in the course of advisory work.
• Technical data — our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP address and browser type, for security and reliability purposes.

Lawful basis

We process enquiry and engagement information on the basis of our legitimate interests in responding to approaches and running an advisory practice, and, where we are engaged, for the performance of a contract. Where we are required to retain records, we process on the basis of legal obligation.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with service providers who host this site and deliver our email and form submissions, and with professional advisers or regulators where we are required to do so by law.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within 24 months. Engagement records are retained for six years from the end of the engagement, consistent with professional and limitation-period requirements.

Cookies

This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies and uses no analytics scripts. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address in order to serve them. If we introduce analytics in future, we will update this notice first.

International transfers

Our hosting and email providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or by standard contractual clauses with appropriate safeguards.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email sally@adelstowadvisory.com. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

Changes to this notice

We review this notice periodically and will publish any changes on this page.
